The weather on day three in Omaha was pretty crazy. It started out very hot and humid and ended with some huge thunderstorms! Fortunately the Cavs practiced at Creighton University (coach O'Connor's alma mater) in the afternoon and beat the rain. Coach O'Connor says the team is confident and loose and they definitely looked that way at practice. There was a little more joking around Monday compated to Saturday, probably because the first game is done with and there aren't as many nerves.

Junior Will Roberts will start Tuesday's game against South Carolina, as expected. With a fresh Roberts and Cody Winiarski, I like the Cavs' chances. In my opinion, this will be the most intriguing game of the CWS so far. The #1 overall seed against the defending national champs! Doesn't get much better than that!
North Carolina managed to stay alive Monday, so Texas is the first team to head home. That's too bad since I've actually made friends with some of the guys working for TV stations in Austin. We're all pretty tightly-packed in the TV work room, so everyone's become very close very quickly.
Looking forward to the game! With a win against USC, the Cavs will be just one win away from the championship series.
