Tara's Take: 2012 Oscars Fashion

My best and worst dressed from this year's Oscars!

I had the incredibly fun honor of hosting this year's Oscar Night America at the Paramount and I have to say, the fashionistas walking our red carpet rivaled all of the Hollywood A-listers! But, turning an eye to Hollywood, I've selected my best and worst dressed stars of the night:

BEST DRESSED:

Glenn Close in this Zac Posen gown and jacket looks so regal! It's event-appropriate, age-appropriate, super-flattering in fit and color. She's my best dressed!

Second place goes to Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji. This was her night to shine and she nailed it! She looks like a million bucks plus an Oscar! Congrats to The Help star for her much deserved Best Supporting Actress win.

Third place: Gweneth Paltrow in Tom Ford. She was on my worst dressed list last year for her busy, mid-drift baring dud, but this year she brings back the sleek, stylish star I love!

Honorable Mention: Cameron Diaz. I wasn't a huge fan of her hair, but I love the simple elegance of her gown. It's flattering, shows off her amazing figure, and still has personality!

WORST DRESSED:

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa. This one may have looked better in person, but in pictures and on camera it did nothing for her. From behind. the backless gown was stunning, but when she turned around, it became a frumpy frock.

Natalie Portman in Dior. Nothing major, just thought the print was too casual for such a glamorous event.

But at the end of the day, my opinion is just mine; and hatin' won't get you anywhere! If these ladies felt good about themselves when they looked in the mirror, then that's all that really matters :)

Finally.... my dress!!!

When I was Miss Virginia, my friend Joy, who owns Reflections in Harrinsonburg used to let me borrow gowns for events. When I was asked to host Oscar Night America, I asked Joy if I could borrow a sparkly creation! She said yes :)

Thanks Joy!!!
