As the SPCA Critter Ball approaches, my partner, Gary and I recently had our first performance in front of a live audience! This past Saturday night at Union Ridge Baptist Church, Gary and I had our first dress rehearsal in front of a crowd: It was a blast!
I was super nervous, but really excited... as you can see from this pre-performance picture with my mom!

Gary and I nailed all the steps in our routine, but after watching the video clip, we definitely have a lot we can work on as far as details, style, and flair... the important stuff!!! We rehearse twice a week and Gary and his wife, Donna have great advice so I am confident we'll be ready on October 29th!
Here's a video clip from the rehearsal. Let me know what you think!
A couple dozen people came out to dance that night as part of a lesson/ open dance session. I was excited that gentlemen of all ages and dance backgrounds asked me to join them for a song. A wonderful 90 year old man named Bill even taught me the swing!
Jared's comfort zone was shattered as well when humored me for a couple of dances!
Ladies like a man who can cut a rug! Take note!
There's still plenty of time to vote and help us support the critters of the Charlottesville SPCA. Every little bit counts so spread the word! Click on "2011 Dancers" and vote for me!
