When it comes to keeping up with fashion trends, every season brings something different. My motto has always been only to splurge on things that are classic pieces. When it comes to hot trends that may go out of style fast, seek out stores that are inspired by the runway and provide high fashion without high prices. You don't have to spend a million bucks to look like it!
On "Must Have Monday's" tonight I talked about what's "in" for winter coats. Take a look at these fabulous pieces from Forever IX for between $37 and $55. I'm loving the gray one, top right.

Below is one of my favorite fall outfits straight from my personal closet:

The boots are from Forever IX and were around $30. The jeans are also from Forever IX. They're super-comfy, fit perfectly into any boot, and are a steal for only $14.99! Hats are huge in the winter time. When I shaved my head to raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation for pediatric cancer research last year, my head was cold all the time. My friends and family were always on the look out for cute, unique hats that would keep my dome warm while keeping me stylish.
Coming soon, I'll post some of my favorite old-fashioned bowl hats with styles from the 1920's-1940's. I was bald, so I figured I didn't have to play it safe with my head fashion!
My go-to trendy but dollar-conscious stores are: Forever IX, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, H&M, Belk, and Express. Claire's is also great for accessories. Much of what I wear on air and out on the town come from places like these, where I can find a good bargain. Another tip: often times, at department stores, you can find similar fashions in the "juniors" department but at lower prices than in the "women's" section. You can definitely tell a difference between the cheaper fashions versus the more high-end products you find at many boutiques on the down town mall. But if you're on a budget, like me, take comfort in the fact that, to the untrained eye, the fuggs you bought from K-Mart look just as stylish, as the real ones... and will keep you comfy and warm for just a fraction of the price.
To find the best deals, bring a friend, come prepared to dig, and make a day of it!
