It's always tough to ease back into the work week after a great weekend, but for some reason this Monday has some more creaks in the gears than usual. The Dave Matthews Band concert Saturday was excellent, and I knew it'd be good when they opened with "Bartender" - my favorite. Even if you didn't get to the shows, I hope you were able to enjoy the gorgeous weather!
The heavy rain continues to fall across central Virginia this morning with over a half an inch recorded at the airport already. I'm thinking we'll have a break in the rain midday with some peeks of sun possible. That sun could aid in the development of some thunderstorms this afternoon, with some storms turning severe. Areas east of Charlottesville will have the greatest chance of seeing storms as warm, moist air in place collides with cooler, drier air to our west. It could be a very noisy afternoon with gusty winds and even small hail possible. I'm running on only two hours' sleep from working yesterday's newscasts but I'll take watching thunderstorms over a powernap any day.
This week in general looks like last week. We'll be wet and cool to start, but sunshine and warmer temperatures return by Thursday. The weekend upcoming will once again be phenomenal with wall-to-wall blue skies and highs near 80 degrees. Anybody else already have a sandal tan on their feet? Now I know what Yogi Berra meant when he said "it's like deja vu all over again." We've definitely done this before.

Have a great Monday!
