Here's Henri

Grace is gone and Henri has formed.

The tropics remain active out there this evening, even as we continue to push into the fall season. We don't typically start to see a steep decline in tropical weather until the latter part of the month of October. The season really winds down during the month of November, before officially ending on November 30th.

Tropical Storm Henri formed very abruptly on Monday afternoon from a cluster of showers and thunderstorms east of the Lesser Antilles. No major strengthening is expected and this storm shouldn't really ever pose a threat to the United States. In case you're wondering exactly how to say Henri, the pronunciation is ahn-REE.

All things considered, this tropical season has been fairly tame compared to the past few years, with only one landfall so far - Tropical Storm Claudette.
