A look back out our rainfall numbers for the month and see how we stack up so far this year.

As we say goodbye to October and hello to November, let's take a look back out our rainfall numbers for the month. Our normal rainfall total for the month is 4.22".

Let's start out at the CHO airport. We saw rainfall 16 of the 31 days for a total of 2.34". The leaves us with a deficit of 1.88" for October. To Madison County... Our weather watcher Larry reports a total of 2.10" for the month. At the McCormick Observatory we had more impressive numbers with a total of 3.47" this month; still a deficit, but of only 0.75".

So where does this put us for the year to date? At McCormick we have received 36.16" through October. The normal is 41.87", a deficit of 5.71".

Good news for November, we started the month with a steady soaking rain of about 1.50". That's about 40% of our normal precip for the month. Hopefully we can finish November in the plus column!
