The first three months of 2010 were soggy, with a monthly precip. surplus each month. We came into the month of April with a year to date rainfall surplus of over 3 inches. Now as we roll into May, the numbers are looking a bit different.
We only saw 9 days of rain during the month of April, with a monthly total of just over one inch. 1.35" at the McCormick Observatory, 1.33" at CHO Airport, and 1.17" in Madison (from our Weather Watcher Larry). The normal for April is 3.34" leaving us with a deficit of almost 2". As of April 30th our year to day rainfall surplus sits at 1.21" at the McCormick Observatory.
We'll see what the month of May has in store...
