All of the brilliant sunshine that we enjoyed on Thursday will quickly become a thing of the past. Another storm is winding up across the Plains and it's bringing severe weather and even snow in the mountains of the west. This front will tap into the Gulf of Mexico and scoop up some moisture and send it our way for the weekend.
Right now it looks like rain showers will start here in central Virginia on Friday night and into early Saturday morning. Saturday will bring rain, nearly all day long. Some thunderstorms are also possible with gusty winds. There is the potential for a significant amount of rain if all of the factors come together. One to two inches of rain could fall by late Saturday evening as the storm pulls away and this may lead to some flooding concerns. If you have outdoor plans for Sunday, don't worry! Things will be clearing out and temperatures will be comfortable, near 70° for the end of the weekend.
