I can't believe I have to write this blog again, but I do. The timing is very fitting though, given that we're on the cusp of severe weather season in central Virginia. Once again, an individual caught up in videotaping a tornado suffers injuries after being blown off the roof of his house.
Seriously.
I wrote my original blog about this topic, but I will say it again: PLEASE do not sacrifice your life or safety for the sake of getting video of a tornado. More often than not, it won't end well.
Now, to the weather. A slight risk area for severe thunderstorms has been posted for parts of Virginia, though the area is to the south of our region. We do have a chance for showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, and while some storms may produce brief gusty winds and small hail, I am not expecting a huge severe weather outbreak. I am expecting a big cooldown to follow for tomorrow as temperatures will sink some fifteen to twenty degrees.
If you're curious about this weekend, we should be dry from Friday through Easter Sunday. I'm still entertaining the idea of some light rain sprinkles late Sunday night into early Monday morning, but for now have left that time period dry. Don't be surprised if that changes.
3, 2, 1, fade out.
