Normally we salute a Classroom of the Week on Mondays. However, this week, we're honoring the generosity of an entire school.
The students of Clark Elementary School in Charlottesville are holding a Coin Drive to honor their teacher Ms. Dawn Reddick, who was killed in a drive-by shooting in New Jersey in July.
Students and faculty are coming together to raise money for the Dawn Reddick Benefit Fund to be presented to her parents at a later date. The fund will help children and families in need.
The drive kicked off on Monday and runs though Friday, Oct. 7.
Along with helping run the Coin Drive, students are creating posters, a donation thermometer and sharing their fondest memories of Ms. Reddick during the morning announcements all week.
The community is invited to get involved by stopping by the school and making a donation.
