Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature Library Card Sign-up Month.
Krista Farrell, Assistant Director of the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library and Central Branch Manager, joined CBS19's Cheryn Stone to talk more about September sign-up month.
Anyone is eligible for a free library card. All you need to provide is proof of identification at your local library. The cards grants you access to more than just books, too. Card holders can check out DVDs, magazines and other materials from the library, access online databases, place holds on books and use the computers at the library.
Card holders can also show their library card at participating business and restaurants in October and receive a 10% discount.
