Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature the Alzheimer's Memory Walk.
Sue Friedman, President and CEO of the Central and Western Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, joined CBS19's Bo Sykes to talk more about the annual Memory Walk in Charlottesville, which is the first of six memory walks in central Virginia.
The Memory Walk raises awareness and funds for the Alzheimer's Association. This year, organizers hope to raise around $150,000, and all the money raised stays in the 37-county central and western Virginia area.
The walk starts Saturday morning, September 11 at the Double Tree Hotel, across the street from the Albemarle County Walmart store. Anyone interested in participating can register in person from 8am to 10am. The Memory Walk begins at 10am.
