Community counts give you a chance to help you learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature the Virginia Farm Bureau and their Save Our Food Campaign.
The Save Our Food campaign was designed by Virginia Farm Bureau to educate consumers about the foods they eat and encourage everyone to seek out and enjoy all of the delicious locally grown foods available.
The campaign was launched in August of 2008 and has opened the eyes of a lot of consumers to start paying attention to their dinner plates.
Joining the cause and VFB is the first, and most important, step anyone can take toward supporting Virginia agriculture and helping to ensure that Americans will never become dependent on foreign sources of food.
The Virginia Farm Bureau makes sure that Virginia families have a safe and fresh, locally grown food supply, keeping our country self-sustaining rather than depending on foreign food.
If you are interested in joining the campaign, visit SaveOurFood.org or call 434-290-1000.
