Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature the Newsplex Alex's Lemonade Stand.
CBS19 reporter Chris Stover joined Bo Sykes to talk more about the lemonade stand and how you can donate to the cause.
Alex Scott passed away at the age of 8 from neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. Her legacy lives on at lemonade stands around the country.
Stover, also a survivor of childhood cancer, has been associated with the Alex's Lemonade Stand organization for years.
For the second year, the Charlottesville Newsplex is welcoming you to celebrate the Fourth of July at McIntire Park on Monday, July 4, as part of Patriotism in the Park. This year, there's a special addition. The Newsplex will operate its own Alex's Lemonade Stand.
At the Newsplex stand, the cost of a cup of lemonade is simply a donation to help fight childhood cancer. Join members of the Newsplex family in the fight against childhood cancer for Patriotism in the Park this July 4.
