Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature Carmageddon.
Jamie Schwartz joined CBS19's Bo Sykes to talk more about the event, which takes place Sept. 6-10 at the John Paul Jones Arena.
Carmageddon 2011 will feature thousands of new and used vehicles from Battlefield Ford, Brown Automotive, Colonial Auto Center and Jim Price Automotive. On-the-spot financing, with special low rates will be available from UVA Community Credit Union.
A portion of the proceeds from every sale during Carmageddon 2011 will benefit the United Way-Thomas Jefferson Area and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Attendees are encouraged to bring canned food donations to the event for the food bank. Representatives from both charities will be on-hand during the event.
Admission is free. Times are as follows:
