Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature the Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE).
Christine Nardi discussed the CNE with CBS19's Bo Sykes.
The CNE is a resource center for nonprofits, its goal is to strengthen area nonprofits. Nonprofits are a vital part of the community, they provide a social safety net, they promote arts and culture, improve education, and help to better the community.
CNE will host the Board Development Academy, which is a nine month training program for anyone who is involved with nonprofits and wants to learn how to be a strong board member.
This is the 3rd year for the program.
An information session will take place August 2nd from 4pm to 5pm at CNE, located in Charlottesville. The deadline for applications is Friday, August 5.
