Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature the annual Flag Day Celebration.
Richard Lambert joined CBS19's Bo Sykes to talk more about the event, which takes place on Thursday, June 14 at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion.
This is the third year of the event. The day of freedom and honor will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. The community is invited to come out to celebrate Flag Day and honor our Armed Forces.
The event will include swearing in of new recruits, honoring local veterans and their family members, a municipal band performance and cake for everyone to enjoy.
