Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature the Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville Independence Day 5K.
Jim Hart joined CBS19's Bo Sykes to talk more about the event, which takes place the morning of July 4.
Registration is open for the 28th annual race. It will be held at Forest Lakes North on Monday, July 4 at 7:30am. For the sixth straight year proceeds will benefit Camp Holiday Trails.
Entry is $25 for Charlottesville Track Club members, $20 for students and $30 on the day of the race. All ages are welcome.
