Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature the Charlottesville Host Lions Club golf tournament.
Scott Brown joined CBS19's Bo Sykes to talk more about the event. The proceeds from the tournament will go toward the purchase of hearing aids and reading glasses for people in the community who would otherwise not be able to have them.
The golf tournament will also benefit Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) by raising money for scholarships in the nursing program.
The event will be Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1pm at Meadowcreek Golf Course. The entry fee is $75 per person or $300 per foursome. There will be a catered lunch after the tournament as well as a raffle for some great prizes.
Anyone interested in playing can pick up a registration form at Meadowcreek Golf Course on Pen Park Road off East Rio Road.
