Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature the Piedmont chapter of Mended Hearts.
Denny King joined CBS19's Bo Sykes to talk more about the chapter, which is a local resource for patients and families coping with heart disease.
From its website, "Mended Hearts is a national and community-based non-profit organization that has been offering the gift of hope to heart disease patients, their families and caregivers."
The Piedmont Chapter of Mended Hearts holds monthly meetings to bring together newly diagnosed, current and previous heart disease patients. The next meeting is Wednesday, Apr. 11 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Northridge Medical Park.
For more information, call 434-981-6905 or visit the Mended Hearts website.
