April 13, 2012

Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. The week we're discussing the the 100th Anniversary of the Charlottesville Corps of the Salvation Army.

Maj. Melinda Johnson joined CBS19's Bo Sykes to talk more about the year-long centennial celebration.

The Salvation Army opened its doors in Charlottesville on Feb. 12, 1912. The Charlottesville Corps has plenty of planned events, including a large celebration on May 4 at the Main Street Arena. For a complete celebration schedule, click here.

In addition, the advisory board has created a Centennial Circle of Caring with the goal of raising $100,000 by the end of the year. To make a donation to the Centennial Circle of Caring, click here.
