Dyslexia, a neurologically-based disorder affecting both children and adults, can interfere with language, reading, writing and basic learning skills. For parents of young children, the term dyslexia may be heard in conjunction with difficulties advancing in school. But what exactly is dyslexia?
Speech-language pathologist Cindy Kyle joined CBS19 for this week's Martha Jefferson Healthwise.
Kyle discussed the meaning of the term "dyslexia" and how it is used in reference. She also talked about the signs and symptoms of a language-based learning disability, and how it can be treated.
