Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men, behind only lung cancer. Julian Fagerli, of Martha Jefferson Hospital, answers some questions all middle aged men should ask themselves.
What is the prostate and what is it’s function?
The sole purpose is for reproduction and is located under the bladder.
What are some of the risk factors?
Family History and race are the biggest risk factors.
What are the incidence and deaths among American men?
There have been 230,000 new cases with over 30,000 deaths. 1 and 6 men will be diagnosed with some degree of prostate cancer.
When can men be screened?
