With the snip of a ribbon, Martha Jefferson Hospital officially opened its newest medical facility Wednesday, located at Spring Creek in Louisa County. With the new community growing so quickly, Martha Jefferson planned the new facility to help serve more patients in the area.
“I think the most important thing that we want to provide is just good quality care for people,” said Dr. Michael Sty, who will serve as the lead physician at the Spring Creek center.
Dr. Sty and his staff will offer health care to many Spring Creek residents Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. And on his first day of business, the community's newest neighbor already had his first patient, Spring Creek resident Steve Andrusia. He's looking forward to the convenience the new office will bring.
“When you don't feel good, the last thing you want to do is have to drive a half hour or so,” said Andrusia.
With Martha Jefferson's expansion, patients like Andrusia are just a short walk or a quick drive away from getting the medical attention they need.
“I think it's important primarily because people are much more likely to access health care when they have a doctor or medical location close to their home,” said Dr. Sty.
At the end of the day, Dr. Sty says it's all about being there for the community each and every day.
