You probably spent a long time wrapping your Christmas gifts only to have them torn open in just a few seconds. But some folks didn't have to spend any time with scissors, tape or paper this holiday season.
That's because volunteers at Martha Jefferson Hospital helped patients and employees wrap their presents this year.
From clothing to toys, volunteers say they enjoy wrapping all of the packages because it's one less thing a patient, visitor or employee has to think about.
"Our first customer this morning was a gentlemen. He was so relieved. He just came laden with packages and said this is wonderful. It just takes the pressure off. His wife is always home so he couldn't surprise her," said Michele Shepherd, MJH Guest Services Supervisor.
The hospital offered the same gift wrapping service in 2012.
