Community Counts gives you a chance to learn more about the people and the organizations that have a positive impact on our community. This week we feature First Night Virginia 2012.
Drake Van de Castle joined CBS19's Bo Sykes to talk more and the annual celebration on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall. Tickets for the 30th anniversary of First Night Virginia are on sale now. To purchase tickets, click here.
The event transforms the Downtown Mall into New Year's Even extravaganza with over 40 performances of music, magic, juggling, comedy and more, all finished off with the midnight virtual ball drop. This year the event will include a laser light show and a watch party for the Virginia vs. Auburn Chick-fil-A bowl game.
First Night Virginia 2012 is also the kick-off event for the City of Charlottesville’s 250th Anniversary.
