Every Tuesday, Dana Adams joins CBS19's Jim Hanchett to share some of the top shopping deals in the Charlottesville area. This week, she features double coupons at Harris Teeter and the Regal Theaters’ Free Family Film Festival this summer.

Beginning Wednesday, May 19 and running through Tuesday, Harris Teeter stores will be doubling coupons up to and including $1.98. You need to have a VIC card scanned at checkout in order to receive the extra savings, and there’s a limit of 20 doubled coupons per day per household.

Internet coupons are accepted at Harris Teeter, so it’s not too late to participate in this coupon event if you haven’t been clipping the coupons from the Sunday paper. Coupons.com, SmartSource.com, and RedPlum.com are great sources for internet printable coupons. A list of coupon matches for this coupon event will be available on Mrs. Moneysaver early Wednesday.

A sampling of items for free to 25 cents after coupon include frozen Mystic Pizza, Kashi cereal, Airwick Air Freshener, Campbell’s condensed soups, Muir Glen tomato paste, and more.

Many area families are already mapping out their summer activity schedule, including Regal Theaters’ Free Family Film Festival. Every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10am this summer, the Seminole Square Regal theater, located behind Kmart, will be showing a free rated G or PG movie.

Tickets are given away at the box office the day of the show and are entirely first-come, first-served until the theater reaches its seating limit. Rugrats The Movie will kick off Charlottesville’s Free Family Film Festival on Tuesday, June 15. The full festival schedule can be found on Regal’s website.
