January 26, 2007

Tickets for local American Idol Chris Daughtry's show here in Charlottesville went on sale at 10:00am on Friday and were sold out within seven minutes.

All 400 tickets for the show at Starr Hill on April 14Th were snapped up on line.

Daughtry's self-titled album reached number one in it's 9Th week on the Billboard 200.

His concert's promotional team says this hometown concert is sure to be a hit.

"He's such a big name and he's from the area, so there's a lot of excitement. A lot of people are really psyched for him to come back. So it just blew out, I guess that happens sometimes. It's a great joy for us and its a great joy that he's coming to town and that people in Charlottesville are going to be able to see him," said Jamie Sisley, a promoter with Starr Hill Presents.

Daughtry finished fourth last season on American Idol.
