Dave Matthews Band to Take Break from Touring

May 17, 2010

For the first time in 20 years, the Dave Matthews Band is taking a break from the road. The group announced on its website that they will not be touring in 2011. However, DMB plans to return in 2012.

the band issued this statement on their website:

As we feel the excitement building for this summer, we wanted to let everyone know that after twenty years of consecutive touring, Dave Matthews Band will be taking 2011 off. We feel lucky that our tours are a part of so many people's lives, and wanted to give everyone as much notice as possible. We're excited to make this summer one of our best tours yet, and look forward to returning to the road in 2012.

DMB's next concert is this Thursday in Washington state. Their 2010 "Get Yr Kicks" summer tour includes stops in Virginia Beach on July 20 and Nationals Park on July 23.
