Restaurants Seek to End Local Hunger with 'Taste This!'

Local restaurants are pitching in to end hunger in the Charlottesville area at the annual Taste This! event at the Boar's Head Inn.

The event features area restaurants, as they present samples of their food to anyone who purchased tickets. Tuesday night's event was sold out, and all proceeds benefit the local chapters of the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels.

The event also features a silent auction to raise additional funds. Attendees can bid on restaurant gift certificates, gift baskets and event tickets.

Taste This! is an annual event that began in the 1980s.
