It's Survivor meets The Amazing Race.

ABC's new reality series, Expedition Impossible, follows 13 teams as they traverse across Morocco.

And one of the show's competitors has recently set down roots in Greene County.

ABC16's Tara Wheeler spoke with contestant John Post and although he couldn't tell her if his team won the $50,000 grand prize, he is clearly rich in life.

Its reality TV to the extreme, Expedition Impossible, ABC's new adventure series challenges competitors to face situations even Indiana Jones would think twice about.

Contestant John Post described the experience, "We started in the Sahara Desert and we raced through the High Atlas Mountains and we paddled on raging rivers, we tamed Arabian stallions and rode camels, it was a pretty epic adventure."

Armed with intense mustaches and a positive attitude, Post says his group of friends emerged as the team to beat, "We really trained hard for this show we took it seriously and we didn't just train physically we trained for mental toughness."

They call themselves the Modern Day Gypsies, "We're always traveling and you never know where we're going to be and it's modern because we're not afraid to live an alternative lifestyle but we can still fit and function in modern society."

After traveling the globe as goodwill adventurers, the group's journey brought them to a farm in Greene County where they've had plenty of fun learning to work the land.

"I'll just crank the hose on and we'll party."

Post says, "I've traveled and volunteered a lot in developing countries and gotten really interested in our food sources and sustainability and thought it was time to come and try it out so I'm here with my sister and our two best friends and we're trying to run this sustainable farm and be connected with our food source."

With no experience running a farm, the group of friends turned to other farmers and Google for knowledge. And the fruits of their labor are plentiful.

Post says, "We'll be inside at the dinner table and realize everything came straight off our farm and like from within five miles around us which is pretty fun."

And a perfect example of Post's big picture message, "You can be compassionate and still be successful. We're just trying to pass that on and inspire others to get out of their comfort zones and to live and be compassionate and help others."

With attitudes like theirs no expedition is impossible.
