Artist Cody Purvis visited the Newsplex for an in studio performance with his band. The local artist is working to make his musical dreams become reality by heading to Nashville.
Purvis says he is trying to bring traditional country music to a new generation by adding his own new twist to the classic style.
He will hold a CD release party at the Jefferson in Charlottesville, Saturday, June 23. The party is to thank everyone who has encouraged him along the way.
“If it wasn’t for the people in Charlottesville I wouldn’t be where I am today,” said Purvis.
Doors open for the event at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the show are $10 in advance and $12 the day of the show.
