Many people walked the red carpet and watched the Academy Awards at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville on Sunday night.
"This event is to benefit the 25th anniversary of the Virginia Film Festival," said Jody Kielbasa, director of the festival. "We're one of only 49 charities across the United States that are officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to present this event."
CBS19's Dan Schutte and Tara Wheeler hosted the event. Those in attendance enjoyed the glamour of Hollywood while getting all dressed up here at home.
Part of the Oscar experience included the actual event programs that the stars received in Los Angeles. The same programs were provided for people at the Paramount.
