The glitz and glamour of Hollywood is coming back to Charlottesville this weekend.
On Sunday, the Paramount Theater will roll out the red carpet for the annual Oscar Night America extravaganza for the 84th Academy Awards. The Virginia Film Festival is one of only 49 charities across the country selected to host an Oscar watch party.
Guests are invited to wear Hollywood-inspired attire and walk the red carpet before the show. The celebration, which benefits the 25th anniversary of the Virginia Film Festival, is the largest of its kind in the Commonwealth. It will feature a giant HD television screen and a unique program.
"The official Oscar program that was shipped here from the Academy of Motion Picture of Arts and Sciences, the same program that is on the seats of the stars at the Oscars, you will get that as part of that evening," said Jody Kielbasa, Director of the Virginia Film Festival.
Oscar Night America is set for Sunday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Theater on the Downtown Mall. Tickets are $45 and there are a few still available.
