If you've ever wanted to re-live your high school prom (for better or for worse!) there's a party coming to the Downtown Mall that will let you do just that.
The Main Street Arena will host S.A.R.A.'s "Prom: Take 2". The event will benefit the Sexual Assault Resource Agency.
"S.A.R.A. serves over a thousand people every year locally through our services to survivors of sexual assault and abuse and our prevention programs at local schools," says the organization's executive director, Margaret Mikkelsen."That takes a lot of money, so by buying a ticket to the prom and coming out and having a good time, people will help those programs continue."
Experience the music of the 50s, 60s, 70s, Soul and Motown with Soul Transit Authority, and enjoy the sounds of special guest DJ Super Jock JJ. As the evening continues, dance the night away to the music of the 80s, 90s and today's hits with local DJ Katie Jackson. There will even be a special crowning of prom king and queen.
The event is on Saturday, August 25, 2012, from 8 p.m. until 2a.m. It will be held at the Main Street Arena in Charlottesville.
Tickets for the event is $15 per person. To purchase the tickets visit this website.
