Students at Albemarle High School are taking their talents to the stage. They have been busy rehearsing for their performance of the classic story "Fiddler On the Roof". Auditions were held in February and students have been preparing for their presentation ever since.
The play is an adaptation of the book, "Fiddler on the Roof", written by Joseph Stein. The musical's lyrics were written by Sheldon Harnick. The play is set in Tsarist Russia in 1905 and the story centers around the main character Tevye, a milkman and his daughters.
"There can be moments that are so exciting, and so much fun to be a part of as an audience member. You actually feel that there's great meaning in this play," said Chris Palmer, a student at Albemarle High School.
The play opens Thursday, May 4 and will end Sunday, May 6. To buy tickets for the presentation, visit the Albemarle High School Players Present website.
