Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds were welcomed by thousands of screaming fans as they walked on stage at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion on Saturday.

Fans from Florida, North Carolina and Maryland traveled to see the mega stars. Tickets sold out in less than three minutes so those who had tickets considered themselves lucky.

"One of their songs is called So Damn Lucky and I've just been telling everybody all week how so damn lucky I am. I have a golden ticket quite frankly," said Brenda Thomas.

"It's my birthday weekend and all we wanted to do is see Dave and Tim, and we're pretty freaking excited," said Jesse Goodroe.

The lines began forming outside the entrance gate at the Pavilion around 1pm. As of 8pm, there were estimates of 3,500 people downtown for the concert. Some compared the concert to therapy.

"The music is like therapy. They're my psychiatrist. It's a little cheaper and I get so much more enjoyment out of it than I would sitting in a doctor office. It's very soulful music," said Thomas.

Proceeds from ticket sales are being donated to charities selected by ticket purchasers. Fans can select from about 1.8 million charities.
