For this week's segment of Edible Blue Ridge, Steve Russell joined CBS19's Jim Hanchett to talk about a new sauce from Autumn Olive Farms.
The Autumn Berry Sauce is made by the local farm from the berries of the autumn olive shrub.
The berries of the invasive species are considered a superfood, meaning they are high in lycopene. Many people believe lycopene helps to prevent heart disease and cancer.
The sauce goes well over anything from vanilla ice cream to pound cake.
