Moments of kindness can build into a wave of love and appreciation. That's true for a woman who's spent a lifetime helping people with disabilities.
CBS19 first learned about Mildred Spicer from a viewer through a poem. Rose Williams wrote the poem for Mildred, who spends her days working with her. Mildred has worked with people with disabilities for 30 years.
"I think most important to me is so many of the individuals I work with, from children to seniors, are very strong individuals, and yet they have daily challenges that are just unbelievable," says Spicer.
Some days it's water therapy, other days it's art or writing workshops. Mildred has committed herself to working with others.
