It's the story of a hero on four legs. Three months ago, a home in Fluvanna County burned to the ground. CBS19 anchor Hailey Frances shows us that the family is thanking their pet for saving their lives.
Pictures taken after a fire ripped through this Fluvanna County home are a painful reminder of a panicked night for Ronnie and Marsha Stratton.
Three months later, the Strattons credit the dog's barking for their quick escape from the flames. They have special praise for Gilly.
"We have learned through all of this that these are just material things. We can get them back one day. We have the memories in our heart and we don't get the chance to live again. Because of our dog. He saved our life."
