Whether she's walking dogs or beautifying the trails on the grounds, one Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA volunteer is doing whatever she can to make a difference for the animals and the folks at the SPCA. In this week's Stephanie's Heroes CBS19’s Stephanie Satchell is featuring Cindi Scott.
Cindi Scott is no stranger at the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA. Since 201, she's volunteered primarily working with the dogs.
“It's so much fun. It's different every day and this is one of the few things you can do to make a difference,” said Cindi Scott, Volunteer, CASPCA.
Scott enjoys walking the dogs especially her favorite Nicolai.
Each visit she looks forward to hanging out on the trail walking and giving "Nick Nick" as she calls him a chance to explore.
“You get to spend one on one time with the dogs and get to know them and it just gives them a break from being inside their runs,” said Scott.
Out of all of the places Scott could be, she feels like the animals need her most.
“Because animals are a very important part of our life and everybody feels that animals are part of their family. There are so many homeless animals that need a home and that's why I do this to try to help them have better lives,” said Scott.
Many people at the CASPCA call her a hero for what she does for the dogs as well as taking on other tasks like forming a garden club to beautify the grounds and her hard work to put on the annual Critter Ball fundraiser. However, Scott says she’s no hero.
“No not at all. I do this because I really enjoy being here and it's such a fun place and everything you do is appreciated,” said Scott.
She says the goal is to do whatever she can to make sure the animals are taken care of and that they adopted into a happy and loving home.
