Although fall is around the corner, spring and summer are on the minds of designers at New York City's Fashion Week. Fashion week began September 6 and ends September 13.
Diane von Furstenberg is known for providing staple styles for the career woman, but her 2013 Spring/Fall collection is full of flirt, fantasy and fun. The styles are inspired by pajamas, featuring flowing tunics and bright slim pants. Although this collection is more play than work, it still holds true to von Furstenburg's trademark style.
""It looks nice. I think it's sophisticated, it's elegant but at the same time, it can be worn, you can take the pieces. Some of those pieces you know, are just the most effortless, wonderful pieces that you could just wear anywhere," said von Furstenburg.
You don't have to spend a lot of cash to be a fashionista. Most department stores are having sales on last season's warm weather clothes.
CBS 19'S Tara Wheeler was inspired by von Furstenburg's fashions and went to the clearance rack to find similar styles. Tara found a tunic on sale at Belk for $30. It regularly cost $90.
She also found slim pants that were on sale for less than $25. The original price was $70. She suggests buying these fashion forward outfits at a discount now, and storing them away in your closet until next spring.
