For this week’s Hot on the Hanger CBS19’s Tara Wheeler looks at dresses and suits suitable for the summer.

There are many summer style alternatives to the classic business suit, that are good for the workplace.

Cap-sleeved suit dresses are a sharp and professional look. First, runner up to Miss Virginia, Desiree Williams wore a red dress suit this season.

Bright colors can still look professional for work dresses. Miss Virginia 2012, Rosemary Willis wore a turquoise dress with matching shoes.

Many of these short-sleeved styles can be used during the fall seasons by adding a jacket. Although these summer styles are trendy they can last for several years.
