For this week's segment of Hot on the Hanger, CBS19's Tara Wheeler highlighted the store Vintage Vixen on Market Street. They hand-pick chic, classic designer vintage clothing.
"You can find these timeless classics and reinvent them in your own way. There's such a lack of soul in the clothing industry, it's wonderful to find these pieces," said Carole Thompson, the owner of Vintage Vixon.
Vintage Vixon's one-of-a-kind pieces are worth thousands, but cost much less at the store.
"A couture gown could cost $5,000 to $10,000, here you will find them in the $ 300 range," said Thompson. "You don't have to have the deep pockets of Donald Trump or Angelina Jolie to afford it. It is accessible to everyone."
The store is more about the clothes, it is about the community that wears them.
"We feel that it's so important that the quest is to be fashionable not support that mass consumerism," said Thompson. "You can find amazing things in your neighbor's closet"
