For this week's segment of Hot on the Hanger, CBS19's Tara Wheeler sat down with Teresa Scanlan, Miss America 2011, to talk about fashion.

Scanlan was crowned Miss American 2011 back in January, she was only 17-years-old at the time, making her the youngest Miss America to wear the prized tiara.

Scanlan travels over 40,000 miles a month she has to know how to stay fashion forward for any situation.

TW: With such a hectic schedule going from dawn til night how do you keep yourself looking fresh all day long?

TS: I found one of the most important things is a good eye cream that really takes care of your dark circles and puffiness. Makes me look like I've had 8 hours of sleep at night. One of my favorites is Amways Artistry Cream Luxury Eye which comes out in November. So it protects the delicate skin around your eye which is really important as a foundation for your make-up and that basis in making sure your skin is replenished and taken care of.

TW: I know that with your schedule you don't always have time to run back to the hotel and take off all your make-up and get ready for the night. So what are a couple of tips you can give ladies to go from work time make up to maybe going out and grabbing a cocktail?

TS: I think keeping pallets of make up that are easy blend-able colors is a great way to transition from day to night. TW: With so much make up on all day and a hectic schedule and stress that I'm sure you're under traveling 40 thousand miles a month, how do you keep your skin healthy and looking good?

TS: One of the most important things especially moving in to fall and winter is protecting your skin against dryness in the wind and snow. Using a strong moisturizer to replenish your skin each night so having both a day and night cream. You can use a heavier cream at night so while you sleep. Then going in to your day, wear moisturizer underneath your make up. Protecting and replenishing your skin daily will keep it looking it's best all the time.
