Dr. Amy Tucker a cardiologist and part of the the University of Virginia's Club Red Clinic visited the Newsplex Friday.
The month of February is National Heart month. The UVA Club Red Clinic is designed to help women with heart disease and diabetes.
Dr. Tucker says in the past years very few women were included in medical trials relating to heart disease.
She says there are major gender differences in symptoms relating to the disease. She says women are more likely to feel fatigue or to have arm pain than to have chest pain. Dr. Tucker also says heart disease is more deadly disease for women.
