The University of Virginia is marking Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting its peer mentoring program for Hispanic students.
The goal of the program is to develop a nurturing and supporting community for new Hispanic students at the university. Peer mentors help the students transition to university life.
This year, more than 230 Hispanic students were welcomed by 60 mentors.
