UVa Information Security Analyst Karen McDowell joined us for this week's edition of UVa Today.
She sat down with the Newsplex's Michelle Rupp to talk about hacking scams that could be on the rise with the start of another school year.
McDowell said it's hard to tell when you run into a scam but there are a few key characteristics: they are always unsolicited, they have a tone of urgency about them, and they generally turn up early Monday mornings or late on Friday afternoons. McDowell said that's because those are times when we are less attentive.
