UVa Today: Red State, Blue State Study

August 1, 2012

For this week's UVa Today, Dustin Cable of the University of Virginia's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service visited the Newsplex to discuss its new research about demographic changes in Virginia that could impact the 2012 election.

The research shows the way Virginians voted in the 2008 Presidential election could be a precursor of things to come. During that election Virginia turned from a red state to a blue state.

The Commonwealth has seen an increase in minorities living in the state, which could provide an edge for Democrats.
